Belief Statement
We believe that the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis stand as a literal, historic account of the beginning of everything (Matthew 19:4, Genesis 1:1). We believe all that is physical and all that is spiritual (excluding the infinite Triune Creator) came to exist (Colossians 1:16) as a result of a sequence of unique, one time events at the direction of a Holy God accomplished in unison with the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ (Genesis 1:1-31). We believe these creative acts were completed "ex nihilo" (out of nothing) and by the mere spoken commands of God (2 Peter 3:5). We believe these creative acts were accomplished over six literal 24-hour days (Exodus 20:11).
Therefore, we hold to young earth view of the age of the earth supported by the genealogies (Genesis 5, 11) in scripture. This created world was created in total perfection (Genesis 1:31) and was subsequently sentenced to a slow decay and eventual destruction by the Curse (Romans 8:20-22, Genesis 3:14-24). This curse was a judgment placed upon mankind for his rebellion against the commmand of God (Genesis 2:16-17). This curse was first placed upon Adam and Eve, whom we view as literal people who were created on the sixth day of creation. We reject all concepts of a pre-Adamic race. We believe the Noahic Flood (Genesis 6-8) was a real, global, year-long event that was at the direction of God as a judgment against the wickedness of a hopelessly rebellious descendants of Adam and Eve (Genesis 6:5, 1 Peter 3:6). The extent of this flood was global and its impact was responsible for most of the present geological layers (perceived as proof for millions of years uniformitarianism, but in reality the result of this one event) and massive fossil graveyards (including dinosaur bones, mammal bones, fish and plant remains).
Additionally, we believe that Noah and his family (Genesis 7:13 and 1 Peter 3:20) were the only humans to survive the flood and were spared by God in order to repopulate the world. His family was commanded by God to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 9:1); a failure by Noah's descendants to obey God's command resulted in God confusing man's language at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9).
Therefore, our presentations are gospel-centered teaching times done within the framework of a history that is based upon a literal, historic approach to the early chapters in Genesis. Our science, philosophy, worldview, doctrines, values and purpose are all structured within this framework.
