Let the waters under the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear. - Genesis 1:9

Evolution: Science or Religious Worldview?

August 30, 2010

Since the publication of Charles Darwin’s “Origin of Species”, man has battled with the theory of evolution. Its clear opposition to the teaching of scripture creates much frustration among Christians and non-Christians alike. If we will be absolutely honest with ourselves, understanding the origin of man or any other form of life is not within the realm of science. Science has limitations: it must be observed, tested and repeatable. If a scientist performs an experiment in the United States, in order for it to be valid, then a different scientist on the other side of the world should be able to perform the same experiment. The beginning of the universe or the origin of life is not observable, testable or repeatable and therefore our understanding of these things cannot be supported by scientific theory alone.

The origin of the universe and of life requires us to look to an eyewitness or a trusted written document. As the Creator of everything, God is that eyewitness and the Bible is that written word upon which the beginning of everything can be known. This is not an attempt to push my religious views upon you…

Truth Is Power

December 02, 2008

Humanity clamors for power, but they cling to this power by claiming to hold truth.

Secular education desires to teach anti-God doctrine in our institutes of education. They desire to hold sway over our children; they do so by claiming to hold the truths of life. Their version of truth can be outlined this way…

What Is Truth? Jesus Christ, Truth Incarnate and Truth in Logos

November 17, 2008

Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” (John 18:38) These three words where spoken dismissively to Jesus at his interrogation by Pontius Pilate. Words like these, spoken at such a somber time in history have a way of echoing, even today. What did Pilate want to know or was he really asking a question at all?

Belief Statement

January 10, 2008

I believe that the first five words in the Bible, “In the beginning God created…” stand as the foundation of the entire Spirit inspired work of the Bible. It is here we find an infinite God revealing Himself to His finite creation, man. His presence is both inside and outside the realm the time, that is to say, God is eternal. God is sovereign over all of His creation.

In addition, I believe that all of the doctrines we find throughout the Bible find their roots, history and foundational meaning in the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis.
